Silent Reading Challenge Cards

On Monday my class and I started a new Silent Reading Challenge Card for week 2. I have chosen these card because I would like to draw and make an acrostic poem.

Reading Challenge Card

On Monday my class and I had to chose 2 challenge cards, we had to finish them today and it was fun and hard for me because I get to tell people what my book is about and why they should read Weirdo, it was hard to think because I had to think back to the other Weirdo books I have already read and I couldn't really remember.

Learning goal - I am learning how to understand the text we are reading by summarising what we have read in our own words.

I am learning how to show my understanding of the text we are reading by answering the questions correctly.

I can shoe my understanding about what I have done wrong by explaining what we should have done.
 
My story was about a girl that started collecting snow globes when she was 6 years old.

Learning goal -  I am learning to identify the different types of questions I am answering in Read theory.

I am learning to use my QAR knowledge to help me find the right answers.
   
My story was about different types of cat's and cat's breeds.

I had to chose one of the Right there, Think and search, Auther and me or On my own.

I mostly chose Right There because the answers were Right there.

We are learning to summarise a story with

our own words,
We are learning to find the main part

of the story and less details.

Today my class and I had to go over theses slides because some people didn't know what to do and I was one of those people.

My story was about interesting, unusual and special animals. As you can see there is a tall box on the side of my question and answer box. That is where we put Think and Search, Right there, Author and me or On my own to answer the question, for example if I read a question and I look for some words in the question and try to find those words in my answers to see if it is the correct answer.

My Chapter Summary

Today my class and I had to fill in this document. We had to fill this document in because we need to learn more about summarising.

I have drawn a picture of Weir trying to catch up to Bella to explain why he was avoiding her at the carnival.

On this slide I have learned how to summarise more and correctly. 
I was on Grade 2, then I was on Grade 3 and now I am on Grade 4, first of all I was very sad that I was on Grade 2 and I got a bit happy when I got on Grade 3 and now I am happier that I am on Grade 4. 
I did 1, 2 and 3 stories because the story was small.

This is my first slides for Term 2 and this time we are learning on how to summarise a story or text.

The House that Jane Built

                                        My Summary
When Jane was 6 years old she wondered why everyone such a small house and when she grew up she asked a woman if she could buy a big house for the people that are fasting and that need shelter but Jane got the house for free. The reason that she got the house was because she wanted the rich and poor to be one community and so they can learn from each other. Then Jane bought a Park for the kids and that was the first park in Chicago.

My Silent Reading Today

 I read from pages 78-82 and I am finished.

Explanation about my book

In these pages I have been reading about Lily and her team going through the last event and Lily helps Wanda but before she helped Wanda she thought if she should help her or not help her because Wanda has been mean to Lily in all of the events but Lily still helped Wanda and Lily collected all of her blue moons. 

When it was on page 81 Lily got called up to staged and Lily was wondering why is she getting called up to stage, well Lily was wondering about that the Angel announced why she was called on stage. Lily is called on stage because she has helped another angel and didn't think about winning so Lily's team will get 20 points and Lily won the trophy.

Learning Goal - We are learning about the 5 elements of a story to help us understand what we are reading.

For 5 elements of a story I have created a DLO (Digital learning object) to show what I have learnt about the 5 elements of a story which is settings, characters, BME (Which stands for Beginning, middle, and end), Problem and solution. I have learnt about all of the 5 elements in a story and I have also learnt about a solution and setting if you wanna see my proof just check the slide above please.
